2022 New Year Kick-Off and Donation To Salvation Army

15 Feb 2022 10:47 AM | Anonymous member

Tiffin, OH - The Seneca County Young Professionals (SCYP) presented a donation to The Salvation Army Tiffin Citadel for $2193.41 during a 2022 kick-off event on Friday, January 21 at The Pioneer Mill. Officers Jimmy and Marcella Hughes of The Salvation Army in Tiffin were in attendance to accept the donation.

“We at The Salvation Army in Tiffin were deeply honored when the SCYP approached us about benefiting from the Downtown Pizza Party! The money that we have received is going towards replacing our dishwasher for our soup kitchen, which is something we were praying about right before we received the news about the Pizza Party! We have been extremely blessed by this event and the amount of support that it received,” said Lt. James (Jimmy) Hughes, Tiffin Ohio Corps Officer.

The money donated was raised during the 2021 Downtown Tiffin Pizza Party. The event was held in September in conjunction with the Downtown Third Thursday series. Eleven local businesses served up slices of pizza, or other pizza related treats to guests who enjoyed the beautiful weather, shopping, beverages from DORA vendors and entertainment in City Lot 7. Save the date for the 2022 Downtown Tiffin Pizza Party that will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

SCYP’s mission is to provide a group of career-oriented individuals opportunities to facilitate personal and professional connections, inspire others and to grow as individuals. SCYP’s vision is to enhance the vitality of the Tiffin and Seneca County community by creating a strong network of young professionals.  Individuals wishing to join the group can visit the website (https://scyp.wildapricot.org) or contact the 2022 SCYP president, Molly Depew (mmdepew1@gmail.com).
